The Perfect Friday Night

Okay, I left you hanging with my last post, didn't I? Lucky for you, nobody reads this blog and so nobody lost any sleep over it. The day before my class was to resume in-person learning, a new COVID case was diagnosed in the AM class. As it turned out, public health and the school board decided they didn't care and we were allowed out of isolation and returned to class. Thanks guys. Thankfully all has been good since then. Here's a recap of what has happened since my last blog post: I returned to work I got my vaccine I reacted poorly to the vaccine and spent two days in bed I've struggled to keep up with house work and am currently living in squalor (okay, not quite) (also, not much different than before my last blog post/isolation 😂) My in-laws brought over their old outdoor table and chairs. New Home Resolution

When a new year is upon us, we take the opportunity to reflect on how our lives are going. What do we want from the new year? What do we want to change or do differently? In the end, the reason for wanting to make a resolution is more or less the same- we want something more out of life. We all just want to be happy, and maybe, just maybe, making a change of some sort will bring about results that improve our lives and make us happier.

After three months on the market, my home for the last 6 years sold. This is the longest I've ever been in one place. Our home selling means a new adventure for my little family. We will move from the city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to an acreage, just outside of Saskatoon. The idea of this new home in the country has me taking a good look at my life. It has me longing for a life that is a bit more simple. The kind of life where I'm not always running and trying to catch up. The kind of life where I make the time to stop and look for the beauty in every day life. This impending move is feeling a lot like New Years Day. It is feeling like an opportunity to make some changes in the way I live my life.

While it seems that blogging might be a bit of a thing of the past, I'm excited to start this as a personal journal where I can share my thoughts and progress as I set a new home resolution for myself to find simplicity... outside the city.
